Job information

The successful candidate will contribute fully to the delivery of the Bank’s compliance monitoring programme and in doing so, create a record of the firms’ compliance with its regulatory and legal obligations. 

Providing clear direction to the 1LOD; supporting their closure of any gaps in the current operating state through agreed actions and deadlines. Supporting the local CCO and Group function in providing the positive assurance required under the CMP methodology.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver a series of defined monitoring tests to ascertain the firms’ compliance with its regulatory and legal obligations.
    • - Delivery of compliance tests on time, in accordance with strict compliance monitoring plan schedule
    • - Maintaining excellent record keeping – correct use of test folders, version control, naming conventions
  • Engage with business pre and post testing; monitoring and verifying the completion of actions which help the business demonstrate positive compliance with its regulatory and legal obligations.
  • Evolving, adapting and designing CMP testing sheets under the direction of the functional Head
  • Continuous gap analysis of the CMP scope and application
  • Actively contributing through monitoring to a ‘live’ compliance risk assessment of the firm
  • Supporting and undertaking Compliance Reporting
    • -  reporting and notifications to regulatory bodies as required
    • - Internal management reporting
    • - Register maintenance

Knowledge and Experience

  • Working knowledge of local regulatory and/or legal requirements across investment management, wealth planning and lending. 
  • Delivering and/or assessing delivery of the above through analysis of: Client files, procedures, processes, record keeping.
  • Delivering regulatory change within a firm
  • Understanding, responsibility, expectation and governance of a 3LOD model.
  • A working understanding of outcomes based regulatory compliance work.

  • Ability to consider the client in each- and every- aspect of the work that we do as a function.
  • A clear understanding of the requirement to maintain an independent Compliance function and exercise of complete discretion and independence in the performance of their duties.
  • Ability to engage people effectively in order to recognise and achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Ability to understand regulatory text – regulation, directive, guidance – and understand the practical implications its application to commercial practice.
  • Excellent business writing skills the ability to summarise at high level as-well-as explain detail findings clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to apply root cause analysis to findings in order to create effective actions.
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the audience and the aim of the task at hand.
  • Excellent record keeping - use of ascribed folders, naming conventions, dating and version control – required to create a lasting and robust records which the senior managers can rely on.
  • Effective diary and work management.
  • Principled - naturally living the values of good conduct and behavior.
  • Record of Maintaining ongoing accredited CPD in support of attainment and maintenance of technical and regulatory knowledge.
  • A true team player – work at all times in support of the Client, the Bank, our function and each and every member of the wider team in support of our corporate values.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent written, verbal, numeric and comprehension skills
  • Relevant qualifications through industry body or educational institution.
  • IT proficient

Languages Skills

  • Fluent Dutch and English plus any European language would be advantageous.
