Luxembourg & Zurich; March 23, 2020: Quintet Private Bank announced today, with profound
sadness, that Jürg Zeltner, the firm’s Group CEO and a member of the Board of Directors, passed
away on Sunday at the age of 52. Zeltner, whose health issue was diagnosed last year, is
survived by his beloved wife and two children.
“On behalf of Quintet’s Board of Directors, shareholders, management and 2,000 employees,
we extend our deepest sympathies to Jürg’s family at this extremely difficult time,” said Jan
Maarten de Jong, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
“We are enormously grateful to Jürg for his visionary leadership and invaluable contribution in
defining a long-term growth strategy for our firm. We will miss his presence as an inspiring
colleague and man of great intelligence, integrity and honor.”
The Board of Directors has approved the nomination of Interim Group CEO Jakob Stott as
Zeltner’s successor. Stott has led the bank since early December 2019, after being named
Wealth Management CEO last summer.
In his capacity as Group CEO and member of the Board of Directors, subject to regulatory
approval, Stott will ensure that Quintet continues to pursue its strategic plans – which remain
unchanged and endorsed by the Board and Quintet’s shareholders – and maintains its enduring
focus on doing the right thing for the individuals and families it serves.
